Ambientec is a Japanese lighting company, established in 2009 by Yoshinori Kuno. The idea behind Ambientec came from Kuno’s previous experience with his company AOI Japan Co., Ltd., established in 1999, where he specialized in protective equipment and lighting for underwater photography.

His experience with waterproof products became the foundation for Ambientec’s product portfolio, which today consists of portable, rechargeable and waterproof lamps for everyday use – combining advanced LED technology with timeless aesthetics and sustainability. All lamps are designed with high quality materials and components that can be repaired and replaced, extending their lifespan and challenging the “throwaway” culture.

The philosophy behind Ambientec’s portable lamps is inspired by the very beginning of lighting, creating intimate spaces and atmospheres with candles and oil lamps, before electricity, wires and outlets existed. This approach to light, combined with modern technology, allows Ambientec’s lamps to be adjusted with dimmable light levels to suit each space and the desired atmosphere.

The lamps are all designed in collaboration with international, iconic designers and are suitable for both private residences and commercial spaces such as hotels, restaurants and office environments.

In our showroom in Nordhavn, we have several Ambientec lamps displayed, including the N-TL01 from the collaboration with Norm Architects, as well as Sage, Remli, Madco and Turn Craft, among others.
