Beach Villa – Fredensborg Architecture Award 2018

Atelier Lise Juel received the Architecture Award 2018 for the project “Strandvillaen” with the following statement:

“Architect Lise Juel designed the new single-family house at Gl. Strandvej 272A. It is a fine example of a house built in a contemporary and modern architectural expression, without drawing excessive attention to itself. In size and proportions, the building relates to the surrounding homes and landscape, subtly adapting to its surroundings in the most respectful manner.

Facing Gl. Strandvej, the building volume is low and set back, but rises towards the forest edge in the background. The simple choice of materials and colors, with oil-treated cedar wood on the facades and the patinated copper roof, harmonizes beautifully with the surrounding forest.

For this remarkable single-family house at Gl. Strandvej 272A and to enhance the architectural quality in the area, Fredensborg Municipality hereby awards the Architecture Prize 2018.”
